Job Stories From Kent, OH
Improperly Installed System in Kent, OH!

This homeowner had contacted us saying that his radon mitigation system was leaking onto his garage ceiling. This was an interior system where the pipe ran up from the basement, into the garage, and then up into the attic where the pipe was exhausted above the roof.

When we went up there to analyze the system we noticed that for one, the pipe wasn't supported at all and at the incorrect angle. Also the location of the roof penetration was right in a valley where two rooflines met. In the future, they will be getting that changed when they have a new roof put on. The final thing we noticed was that the fan was older and seemed to be the cause of the leak.

At this point we decided to replace the fan for them and address a sump pit that was also left without a sealed lid.

After our work we left a test and the home came back at around 1 pCi/L!

A Very Aesthetic System!

This job was a part of a real estate transaction, so we had been in contact with the realtor and multiple parties involved. Once the buyer had moved in he decided that he wanted to put one of our fan covers on his system. Not only does the make the system blend into the home, but it also protects the fan from the elements and dampens any noise. We were also able to tuck the system back behind some shrubbery and on a side of the house that no one goes to. This was a pretty straightforward install and it turned out very nice and clean!

In Depth System With Multiple Suction Points!

This customer lives near the Twin Lakes and her basement was separated by a block wall. This creates an obstacle for us because underneath every block wall is a footer, which blocks any airflow that we have underneath the slab. So in order to overcome this, we ran a pipe from our main suction point, went through the block wall and drilled another hole on the other side. This allowed us to get very good "communication" all the way throughout the basement, drastically lowering the radon levels!
