Large Home With High Levels
This customer was selling their house in Aurora, OH. It was a relatively new home, built in 2018. The home buyers requested a radon test and the levels came back at 20 pCi/L. This was obviously concerning and needed mitigated. The home also had a large footprint which can sometimes make it hard for our systems to remove all of the radon.
This is where new building practices came in and helped us. This home had a lot of gravel, a plastic vapor barrier, and a footer drain underneath the concrete slab in the basement. All of these elements make radon mitigation extremely effective. This is because they allow us to pull air throughout the entire slab very easily.
The post mitigation test showed levels of around .8 pCi/L!
